Li &Fung Limited Job Fair was an big success

On Dec 10th, a job fair jointly hosted by Li & Fung, Ltd and Raffles Guangzhou at Guangzhou’s New Hilton Hotel was an overwhelming success. This was the largest job fair that Raffles has organized and was well received by the students and the Li & Fung delegation. On-site interviews were given and students as well as staff from Li & Fung were able to interact and discuss the merits and benefits of working with a successful multinational company.
The job fair was organized after Raffles and Li & Fung staff had met to discuss a working relationship between the two organizations. Li & Fung is expanding in the South China region and is searching for high quality, motivated and creative students who have benefited from a western education; likewise, Raffles Guangzhou, through its Center for Professional Development(CPD) is keen to find the best opportunities for its graduates.

Before the job fair, seminars were given to prepare Raffles students for their job interview, and in all more than 50 existing students and graduates attended the fair. Li & Fung was impressed with the students’ performance on that day and many were invited toattend a second round of interviews.

A cooperation agreement was signed betweenRaffles Guangzhou College Director Lionel Tan and Bianca Tang, Vice President of Li & Fung South China Region. This cooperation agreement is considered to be a positive start of the working relationship between these two organizations.

A lucky draw was held to conclude the job fair and one lucky student Zhu Shu Xin (Akube) from the Commerce Department won an Ipad2. She is pictured receiving her prize from College Director Lionel Tan.
